The retrospective devoted by the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris to the abstract painter Serge Poliakoff (1900-1969) offers the viditor some 70 paintings and numerous works on paper dating from 1936 to 1969.


The exhibition sets out to underscore the singularity of an approach whose sensitivity invités contemplation; and at the same time highlight the intensity of an œuvre whose sole focus was, as critic Pierre Guéguen put It in 1950, this "dream of forms in themselves, which si the great mystery of abstract"
